Welcome to the Planet Society, an On-line Exchange Market for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence.
The Global Movement for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence is based on your personal commitment, and it becomes a force for change when you put this commitment into action, beginning at the local level. You provide a focus for other individuals to become engaged. And when you join your action with others throughout the world, including those previously isolated and unknown, together you become a powerful force for change. Act locally, interact globally.
Everyone has something to give and something needed in return. Based on this principle, you are invited to register here your project that promotes the culture of peace and non-violence in some respect, and to indicate what kind of resources you can give and which your project would like to receive. Information registered on this "private" site is posted on the "public" site of the International Year (http://www.unesco.org/iycp) which will serve for the coming International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010). Thereby your project receives public recognition, and others (individuals, organizations, projects, etc.) can take part directly in the exchange of resources with you.
